About Vi
"Mischievous", "Daring", "Charming" are just a few words that have been used to describe Vi Flaten.
Vi (short for Violet) was born in and began her theater career in Iowa before spending a few years in Phoenix, Arizona. It was there that she participated in the regional premiere of Ken Davenport's My First Time. After its close, he invited her to join the New York cast.
Now a New York based actress, Vi has had the honor of training with Patsy Rodenburg and working with such directors as M. Seth Reines, Eve Shapiro, Ken Davenport, and Gary Briggle. She's stayed continually busy with commercials such as 1-800-Flowers, Puma, the Gameshow Network, Culver's and independent feature films such as Tom and Sabrina Divorce, Keep the Party Going, and The Night Before She Walked Down the Aisle.
However, theater is still where Vi's heart is. Her favorite role to this day remains Hunger in Nearly Naked Theater's production of Mary Zimmerman's Metamorphoses.
She dedicates her work to the original Vi Flaten - her grandmother and the raddest farm wife North Dakota has ever known.
